About Us
SANKARS the book people had its beginnings in the year 1967-68. Today SANKARS, the famous chain of bookstores, has a collective floor space of more than 10,000 sq. ft. in Bangalore alone. This is in addition to our other branches at Coimbatore, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Goa.
SANKARS, 15/2 Madras Bank Road is our latest venture as a breakaway store from the regular bookstore. Aside from being a storehouse for all categories of books, it is a space for intellectual interaction between readers and authors, book launches, poetry readings, author workshop etc., Spread over a floor space of 2,000 sq. ft, this store is meant for long leisurely browsing. The two plump couches packed in the far corners are irresistible to the lotus-eaters to whom a book is a ticket to their personal utopia. You can recline with a stack of the latest books and wet your appetite before you make an informed buying decision. Also there is a play corner with a slide and a beautiful mural done by one of Bangalore’s leading contemporary artists, to keep your kids busy while you browse.
